Plans for the superbowl? We've got you covered

Whether your staying in or embracing the bold north, we have some fun super bowl ideas and events that might be just the thing you and your family.

Staying at home? So are we!

Below are some fun eats and snacks the whole family will enjoy:

Super Bowl football cheese and crackers

These tasty treats will go fast! And the good news is, they're on the  healthy side! Grab some crackers, cheese and salami, top with a  little veggie dip and it's game time!

Double chocolate football cupcakes

I have yet to meet little one who has ever refused a cupcake! This family treat will satisfy young and old alike. Use your favorite cupcake recipe and get crafty!

Mini ice cream football sandwiches

Footballs-on-a-stick anyone? All you need are some ice-cream bars, a tube of frosting, some sticks, and viola! Doesn't get more Minnesotan than that!

Looking for some super bowl adventures in the great state of minnesota?

here are some fun family friendly ideas:

St Paul's Giant Snow Slide

Nicollet Mall isn't the only place celebrating the Super Bowl this year! A 40-foot snow slide at CHS Field, a nearby night market with 100 vendors and lawn mower races on ice are among the events in the east Metro to celebrate. Bring the kids and expect lots of laughs sliding down this snow slide!

Super Bowl Live

If you haven't ventured downtown Minneapolis yet to check out the activities, you really should! I've never seen this city so alive! There's a BIRKEBEINER bridge you can tube or ski down, "sleigh rides" by FORD to take in the sights of the city, and my favorite, Hallmark Channels's Kitten Bowl where dozens of little kitties from all around the country came to Minnesota in a 41 - foot mobile shelter, and guess what! Each one is up for adoption. You can find them on Nicollet Mall in the Dayton's Project, the new name for the vacant department store.

Seventh Street Truck Park

With an indoor food truck park and a 15-pound ice cream sandwich, there are few other spaces with this much sensory overload and space for your kids to run wild. The menu is practically built with the game in mind: chicken, ribs, pizza, chips and guac, plus much more. And, there's a full weekend of events leading up to the big day. On Friday and Saturday, hear live music from 5 p.m. to midnight. On Super Bowl Sunday, enjoy $10 bottomless Bud Light, a pizza buffet, and Super Bowl bingo.
